Generalizing Korchmáros—Mazzocca Arcs

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this paper, we generalize the so-called Korchmáros—Mazzocca arcs, that is, point sets of size q + t intersecting each line in 0, 2 or points a finite projective plane order q. For ≠ 2, means set is incident with exactly one meeting points. PG(2, pn), change definition above to any integer m and describe all examples when not divisible by p. We also study mod p variants these objects, give under some conditions prove existence nucleus.

Generalizing Halfspaces Generalizing Halfspaces

Restricted-orientation convexity is the study of geometric objects whose intersection with lines from some fixed set is empty or connected. We have studied the properties of restricted-orientation convex sets and demonstrated that this notion is a generalization of standard convexity. We now describe a restricted-orientation generalization of halfspaces and explore properties of these generaliz...

t-Pancyclic Arcs in Tournaments

Let $T$ be a non-trivial tournament. An arc is emph{$t$-pancyclic} in $T$, if it is contained in a cycle of length $ell$ for every $tleq ell leq |V(T)|$. Let $p^t(T)$ denote the number of $t$-pancyclic arcs in $T$ and $h^t(T)$ the maximum number of $t$-pancyclic arcs contained in the same Hamiltonian cycle of $T$. Moon ({em J. Combin. Inform. System Sci.}, {bf 19} (1994), 207-214) showed that $...

generalizing quasinormality

quasinormal subgroups have been studied for nearly 80 years. in finite groups, questions concerning them invariably reduce to p-groups, and here they have the added interest of being invariant under projectivities, unlike normal subgroups. however, it has been shown recently that certain groups, constructed by berger and gross in 1982, of an important universal nature with regard to the existen...

Generalizing substitution

It is well known that, given an endofunctor H on a category C, the initial (A+H−)-algebras (if existing), i.e., the algebras of (wellfounded) H-terms over different variable supplies A, give rise to a monad with substitution as the extension operation (the free monad induced by the functor H). Moss [17] and Aczel, Adámek, Milius and Velebil [2] have shown that a similar monad, which even enjoys...

Generalizing Scales

Instead of considering scales to be linearly ordered structures, it is proposed that scales are better conceived of as metrics (dissimilarity matrices). Further, to be considered a scale of typological interest, there should be a significant correlation between a meaning-scale and a form-scale. This conceptualisation allows for a fruitful generalization of the concept "scale". As a hands-on exa...
